About Your Appointment

What can I expect at my first session?

Your first visit includes a short consultation so we can understand your goals, any relevant health information, and the type of massage that will suit you best. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, get comfortable, and settle in before the hands‑on treatment begins.

What should I wear to my treatment?

I would recommend that you wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes to your massage. You will need to undress, so clothing that is easy to take off is best. Your treatment will involve the use of oil, so be mindful of that and I would suggest you avoid wearing materials that might be damaged through contact with the oils.

What do I wear during my treatment?

Ultimately, you should undress to the level you feel comfortable, but that said, certain treatments are easier without clothing in the way. Regardless of your clothing preferences, towels will be provided to cover your body, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. Your privacy and comfort is always respected, but if you have any questions or concerns, please ask me prior to your treatment.

Do I need to bring anything?

You don’t need to bring anything special as I will provide all the towels, oils, etc needed for the treatment. I will provide filtered tap water, but some clients prefer to bring their own bottle of water for after the session.

Comfort and Environment

What if I feel uncomfortable during the massage?

Your comfort is the priority. You can request changes to pressure, temperature, music, or positioning at any time. Open communication helps create the best experience.

Will the therapist be in the room while I undress?

No. You’ll have complete privacy to get ready before the session begins.

What if I fall asleep?

It happens all the time. Many people drift off during a relaxing massage, and it’s perfectly fine - I actually take it as a compliment!

What oils or products do you use?

High‑quality oils and lotions are used, and unscented or hypoallergenic options are available if you have sensitivities or preferences. Please speak to me or let me know when booking a session so that I can ensure your needs are met.

Treatments and Safety

Does massage hurt?

Massage should never feel painful. Some techniques can feel firm or intense, but the pressure is always adjusted to your comfort. You’re encouraged to speak up at any time regarding the pressure, or any discomfort, so the treatment stays enjoyable as well as effective.

Can I have a massage if I have a medical condition?

Some conditions require extra care, and it’s important that massage is appropriate for you. If you have any concerns, it’s best to speak with a healthcare professional. During your consultation, I’ll discuss your health history to ensure the treatment is suitable.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Pregnancy massage is generally considered appropriate from the second trimester onward, using comfortable positioning and supportive cushions. If you’re unsure whether massage is right for you at this stage, a healthcare professional can offer personalised guidance.

Please note, I do not offer prenatal massage therapy at this point.

After Your Massage

How might I feel afterwards?

People often feel relaxed, lighter, or a little sleepy. Some mild soreness can occur after deeper work. If you have any concerns about how you’re feeling, a healthcare professional can offer personalised advice.

How often should I book a massage?

The ideal frequency depends on your goals, lifestyle, and how your body responds. Some people come monthly for general wellbeing, while others book more regularly for ongoing tension.

Is there anything I should avoid afterwards?

Gentle movement, hydration, and listening to your body are usually helpful. If you’re unsure about specific activities, a healthcare professional can guide you

Booking and Practicalities

How long is a session?

Sessions are typically 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Your appointment time includes a brief consultation at the start so the hands‑on time is focused and effective.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens, and plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as possible. Cancellations within the agreed notice period may be subject to a fee. Regular cancellations may result in future bookings being declined.

Should I arrive early?

Arriving a few minutes early helps you settle in and ensures we can start your session on time, but please do not arrive too early, as it might disturb another treatment.

Do you offer mobile or home visits?

I have a portable massage table and do offer a mobile massage service, subject to availability, distance, etc. It is important to ensure there is a suitable area large enough to accommodate my massage table that is private and will be undisturbed during the treatment. Please contact me to discuss your situation and arrange this service.

What payment methods do you accept?

Most clients pay by cash, card, or bank transfer. If you prefer a specific method, just let me know.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Do you offer packages or discounts?

Block bookings or loyalty options may be available. Please ask if you’d like to explore these options.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. Your personal and health information is kept securely and used only to support safe, appropriate treatment in line with data protection requirements.

Are you qualified?

I am an ITEC certified holistic massage therapist, with an additional deep tissue massage therapy certification. I passed my exam in 2007, with a distinction.
